5 Best Boutique Hotels in Santiago Chile

You’ve booked your plane ticket and now you’re wondering where to stay in Santiago, Chile

I’ve got the answers for you! Travel in South America can come with the need to use increased caution. I felt safe the entire time I was in Chile. However, I was advised by local Chilean friends about the safest neighborhoods in Santiago, as well as general safety precautions. I’ve taken this into account and put together a list of the best hotels in this vibrant capital city.

As a bonus, if you read to the end you’ll also see one of my FAVORITE ways to save money on travel!

4. Hotel Eco Boutique Bidasoa

5. Luciano K Hotel

Want more details on each boutique hotel?

Read on for a full a recap and my thoughts on each of the best boutique hotels in Santiago.

1. Best Hotel Around $100

Ladera Hotel

Looking for a little luxury but don’t want to break the bank?  Look no further than Ladera Hotel.  It’s a stylish hotel with more amenities than the first two. The metal screen facade makes the building unique and the motif continues into the rooms.  Personally, the in room espresso maker and rainfall shower have my love!

Located in a nice neighborhood with easy access to trendy, upscale areas like Providencia.  Rejuvenate yourself after the long flight at the onsite spa with a massage treatment.  Once you’re feeling fresh, explore the sprawling San Cristobal Hill nearby.  After a day of exploring Santiago, come back and relax by the rooftop pool on one of the sunbeds. This is the best hotel option in Santiago for around $100.

2. Best Hotel Outside of the City Center

Hotel Casa Arrayan

Want to rest and relax closer to nature?  Santiago is a large city, stretching across a bowl-shaped valley surrounded by mountains.  Casa Arrayan takes advantage of the natural beauty surrounding the city by being located on the outskirts.  You’ll be very close to my favorite hike with a series of waterfalls!

Create you own cold/heat therapy. Cool off from the Santiago summer sun in the cold mountain water before returning for some time in the sauna.  Finish it off with a relaxing dip in the hotel pool.

With only 7 rooms at the hotel, it’s a very intimate property.  The rooms have a cozy cottage feel, making it a great choice for a winter trip as well.  Enjoying the free breakfast on the patio with a view of the mountains will be even sweeter knowing this stay won’t break the bank.

If you’re wanting to explore the city center during your stay I recommend renting a car as the Uber rides back and forth would really start to add up.

3. Best Hotel Pool

ICON Hotel

Picture yourself sipping on a poolside drink while taking in the breathtaking view of the mountains at ICON Hotel.  Can you see it now?  The unique triangular design of the hotel literally points in the direction of the mountains.  Depending on what time of year you go they could be capped in snow, making the scene almost like a fabulous movie set.  While it’s a bit bigger than what’s typically considered “boutique”, it made the list for having the best pool in Santiago along with some great amenities.

After your long flight into Chile, spend some time rejuvenating at the onsite spa before exploring the best of Santiago. (link to Santiago things to do post)  I recommend requesting a room with mountain view when booking.  ICON Hotel is a beautiful 4 star option and one of the best boutique hotels in Santiago.

4. Trendiest Design

Hotel Eco Boutique Bidasoa

Trendy and eco friendly?  Hotel Eco Boutique Bidasoa is both.  The interior design feels very calm and relaxing with the use of green throughout.  I mean that in more than one sense as it also feels like its name, “Eco”.  Eco friendly cleaning products are used on site so it’s very true to its name.  The plants throughout keep it feeling fresh and full of life.  My favorite touches are the flamingos, adding a fun and whimsical element without feeling tacky.

It’s pretty centrally located, but not particularly close to any of the major sites of Santiago so Uber or the metro will be your friend. Free breakfast is included with all rooms which I always love!  I recommend the junior suite, or if you want to splurge on your stay you can’t beat the stylish home-like feel of the presidential suite.

5. Best Overall Boutique Hotel in Santiago, Chile

Luciano K Hotel

Did somebody say chic art deco? Run, don’t walk, to book one of the 38 beautiful rooms at this stylish boutique hotel.  For me it’s a combination of the colorful mosaic flooring throughout the property, the stained glass windows, and luxe fabrics that draw me in and make me never want to leave.  This is the most stylish and luxurious option on the list.  And it comes with free breakfast?!  Yes, please.

You’ll be located in one of the best neighborhoods to base yourself for a trip to Santiago, as you’ll be walking distance to the cute cafes and restaurants of Barrio Lastarria and Santa Lucia Hill.  Just a short uber or metro ride away are more good eats in the Barrio Italia neighborhood.  After a day of exploring in the summer heat, the dip pool is a fantastic way to cool off before an evening drink at the onsite bar.  I recommend splurging on the suite.  If you’re like me you will absolutely adore the red velvet sofa!

This one has my vote as the overall best boutique hotel in Santiago, Chile.  At 4 ½ stars this property offers the most luxury of any hotel on the list.  When you add up everything from the design, the amenities, and the location, there’s no better option than Luciano K Hotel.

What about the money saving travel tip I mentioned?

As promised I’ll leave you with one of my favorite ways to save money on travel.  You may have noticed that the links on the list take you to Hotels.com.  This is because this brand along with Expedia and Vrbo have a shared rewards program called One Key.  You can earn OneKeyCash on every stay you complete, and on other travel related bookings on Expedia such as car and activities that can be applied to your next trip.

If you’re like me and rarely stay in the big brand hotels, this is a great way to earn rewards on stays that fit your travel style.  I love how I can earn cash rewards to apply to the balance of my next trip whether I’m booking a budget stay or if I’m splurging on a more luxury stay.

Happy exploring, and remember to Be Free and Travel! 🌏✈️
