Discover the Magic of the Luau Fire Dancing Show

A luau might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Myrtle Beach, but this unique experience is one you’ll never forget. The Polynesian Fire Luau & Fire Show at St Johns Inn has a history as vibrant as its performances. Over 20 years ago, it was started by a Polynesian man and his family, and today, it continues to thrive, lovingly managed by his daughter’s best friend. Each evening offers an authentic escape into Polynesia, featuring mesmerizing fire dancing, rhythmic drumming, and a feast inspired by tropical flavors. From the first beat of the drums to your last bite of the island-inspired dinner, this is more than just an event—it’s an unforgettable celebration of culture. Don’t miss the chance to enjoy one of the best things to do in Myrtle Beach. It’s a slice of paradise waiting for you!

Tickets for this vibrant experience are priced at $71 per person, making it a good value for an evening filled with entertainment and flavors. The show runs Tuesday through Saturday, with performances at 5 PM and 8 PM lasting approximately two hours. During the event, you will indulge in a delicious buffet dinner while enjoying the captivating performances. If you’re looking to elevate your evening, upgraded drinks are available for an additional cost. Don’t wait to secure your spot—book your tickets now.

For those looking to enjoy the performances on a budget, there’s a fantastic opportunity to catch the show for free! The drawback is you may have to fight large crowds to get a good viewpoint. Between early June and mid-August, you can watch the performers in action at the Surfside Pier, where they host a special outdoor performance on the beach.

These shows run from 7 PM to 8 PM, offering a fun and engaging experience under the open sky. It’s the perfect way to soak in the entertainment without spending a dime, while enjoying the ocean breeze and the vibrant summer atmosphere. Be sure to check the schedule and arrive early, as these free beach events are a popular attraction!

The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk is more than just a walkway – it’s a vibrant hub of activity that brings the essence of a perfect beach day to life. Lined with an array of cute shops and restaurants, it’s the ideal spot to grab a bite, pick up souvenirs, or simply unwind while soaking in the coastal charm.

For those not staying at a beachfront hotel, the Boardwalk provides easy access to amenities, making it an incredibly convenient home base for day on the beach. Whether you’re savoring fresh seafood overlooking the waves or indulging in a sweet treat after a stroll, the energy of the Boardwalk is always infectious.

Taking a stroll here, or setting up camp on the beach in front of it, is free. It’s great for both day and night.

Surrounded by lush maritime forest and the soothing sounds of the ocean, the park feels like a world away from the crowds.

Whether you’re strolling along the uncrowded shoreline, picnicking under the shade of ancient trees, or simply soaking in the natural beauty, Myrtle Beach State Park delivers a refreshing, tranquil vibe that’s hard to find elsewhere.

Endless Fun at Broadway at the Beach

If you’re looking for a place packed with fun, Broadway at the Beach has you covered. You can challenge yourself in one of the thrilling escape rooms (my personal favorite!) or try something unique like moonshine tasting for a true Southern experience.

Despite the name, Broadway at the Beach is not actually on the beach, but is located around a fairly large man made lake with lots of fish (that you can even feed).

The variety of shops means you’ll have lots to explore if you’re a shopper, and the restaurants offer endless options to satisfy any craving. Beyond that, there’s mini-golf, live shows, ziplines, and so much more to explore. Whether you’re planning a family outing, a date night, or just a fun day with friends, Broadway at the Beach is the perfect spot to create unforgettable memories.

Dive into Adventure at Ripley’s Aquarium

Ripley’s Aquarium is a must-visit attraction in Myrtle Beach, offering an up-close look at fascinating marine life. From walking through the mesmerizing shark tunnel to getting hands-on with stingrays, there’s so much to explore.

Pro tip: Be sure to grab your tickets here in advance! Not only will you skip the long lines, but you’ll also have more time to enjoy the exhibits without the wait. Whether you’re traveling with kids or just love the wonders of the ocean, Ripley’s Aquarium is an unforgettable experience that’s as educational as it is fun.

Sip and Savor at Kentucky Mist Distillery

If you’re up for a unique and flavorful experience, a moonshine tasting at Kentucky Mist Distillery is a must. Their handcrafted moonshines come in a variety of flavors, from classic to fruity, and it’s so much fun to sample them all and find your favorite. And if moonshine isn’t your thing, they also have vodka and whiskey to sample.

The staff is super friendly and happy to share the stories behind each blend, making the experience even more special. Whether you’re a moonshine newbie or a seasoned sipper, this is a great way to try something new and add a little Southern charm to your day.

You can taste 5 different shines or vodkas for just $5. The Caramel Apple ended up being one of my favorites, so much so that I ended up bringing a bottle home. I recommend saving some room in your suitcase to bring home a bottle or two as a tasty reminder of your Myrtle Beach memories.

Open daily from 10am-10pm. Click here for the location on Google Maps.

Let Your Imagination Run Wild at WonderWorks

Have fun at the upside down house, otherwise known as WonderWorks

WonderWorks is one of those places that’s just plain fun, no matter your age. The moment you step into the upside-down building, you know you’re in for something different. I love how interactive everything is—you can feel hurricane-force winds, try lying on a bed of nails (it’s not as scary as it sounds!), and explore so many cool exhibits that make you think and laugh at the same time.

The ropes course and laser tag are always a hit, too. It’s the kind of place where you can spend hours just playing, learning, and having a great time with whoever you’re with.

Prices start at just $15.99 for the ropes course and go up to $49.99 for the 3 attraction pass (includes WonderWorks, the ropes course, the zipline, as well as photos and videos of the experience). When you purchase tickets online you save $2 per person.

Relax and Explore at The Market Common

Sign for The Market Common in front of shops

The Market Common is the perfect blend of relaxation and activity, making it a favorite spot to spend a day. Known locally as simply “Market Commons”. Start your visit with a coffee from Grand Strand Coffee, then take a peaceful stroll around the scenic lake just across from the shops.

After soaking in the views, wander back to explore the unique boutiques and stores before grabbing brunch at one of the many fantastic restaurants. I recommend Zardin. It’s a little on the pricey side, but it has so many tasty and healthy options. They also have great juices, smoothies, and coffee.

If you’re more of a night owl, come by for a sunset walk around the lake—it’s absolutely stunning—and cap off the evening with a drink at one of the cozy bars. Whether it’s a laid-back morning or a romantic evening, Market Commons has something special waiting for you.

Find the general location of Market Commons here on Google Maps.

Chill and Cheers at Tidal Creek Brewhouse

Tidal Creek Brewhouse is the perfect mix of coffee house vibes and brewery fun, making it a spot that truly has something for everyone. While they’re known for their craft beers, they also whip up amazing cocktails for those of us who aren’t beer fans—my go-to is the Creek Tea. If I’m skipping alcohol, I can’t resist the Strawberry Mint Refresher or the Brown Sugar Cinnamon Latte.

The outdoor space is a dream, with plenty of seating on the sprawling lawn, a dog park for your furry friends, and often live music, food trucks, or pop-up vendors to keep things lively. Soon they’re even adding pickle ball to the mix! Whether you’re there for a drink, a bite, or just to soak in the laid-back atmosphere, Tidal Creek is always a good time.

Open Friday and Saturday from 8am-11pm, and the rest of the week from 8am-10pm. Find the location here on Google Maps.
